The performance road tyre, engineered as a system.
Daily Rider R is the road-end of the Surau Motorsport range. Patent-designed asymmetric 5-rib tread, a high-silica road compound balanced for tread life and grip, and full DOT compliance so it's legal in Australia and New Zealand. Built for drivers who want a genuine performance tyre as their daily — not a compromise in either direction.
DOT ApprovedA build tuned for the job.
A passenger-spec 4-layer build, tuned for the demands of a performance road tyre rather than a touring radial.
Carcass
Two-ply polyester casing for ride compliance and impact tolerance.
Belt package
Two-ply high-tensile steel belt at 22° for lateral stability under load.
Cap ply
Single-layer nylon spiral cap for high-speed integrity. Spirally wound (not jointed) for uniform tension at speed.
Bead bundle
Single-strand high-strength steel bead, apex compound profiled for sport sidewall stiffness without sacrificing impact compliance.
SR-300 high-silica road
Surau's road-tyre compound family. High silica loading delivers wet grip and rolling-resistance without compromising tread life. Cross-linked polymer chains keep the compound stable across the daily operating range — from cold morning starts through hard summer use.
- Treadwear — 300 UTQG (target life: 25,000–35,000 km in mixed road use)
- Traction grade — AA (wet)
- Temperature grade — A
- Not intended for sustained competition use. For drift or time-attack use, step up to Just The Tip SS.
Asymmetric 5-rib with zig-zag grooves.
Patent-designed asymmetric 5-rib layout with zig-zag circumferential grooves for resistance to hydroplaning and uniform wear across the contact patch.
Outer shoulder
Solid rib for lateral cornering stability.
Inner shoulder
Offset notch pattern; promotes water dispersal toward the centre channel.
Centre rib
Stable straight-line tracking; reduced void ratio for braking response.
Sipes
Lateral on outer ribs, longitudinal on inner; tuned for wet performance without compromising dry grip.
Void ratio
~28% (vs ~32% typical road radial) — more rubber on the road.
Low-profile 30–40 series sport sidewall geometry. Reinforced shoulder profile resists rollover under hard cornering; bead apex compound stiffened to maintain steering precision at performance speeds.
Good for. Not for.
Good for
- Daily driving on a performance car
- Spirited road use (twisties, mountain roads)
- Track days (5–10 hard laps before heat saturation)
- All-season road use in temperate AU & NZ conditions
Not for
- Sustained competition drift / time attack — step up to Just The Tip SS
- Snow or ice — this is a summer compound
- Closed-track competition slicks territory — see Bare Back S

Against the 300TW super street radial.
The competitive baseline at this price/spec point is a 300TW super street radial. Our advantages:
- Five sizes from launch vs the typical two-size offering
- Zig-zag groove geometry for stronger lateral edge bite under cornering load
- Nylon spiral cap ply spec'd as standard (often absent at this price point)
- Full UTQG breakdown declared on every spec sheet — 300/AA/A
